Maui Plein Air Invitational
Debra Huse's painting "Sugar Mill's Hummin' " won an Irvine Museum Award at the 2006 Maui Plein Air Painting Invitational held February 15-26th. Twenty five artists were invited to paint the beautiful island with more than half of the artists representing the various Hawaiian Islands. On Tuesday evening, Jean Stern, curator of the Irvine Museum, gave a slide presentation and talk for collectors which traced the history of painting styles from the renaisance to contemporary plein air artists.

where fifty-two selected artists will paint the beaches, barns, boats, vineyards and other
scenic landmarks in San Luis Obispo county. If you are in the area, the Gala Exhibition
and Silent Auction will take place Saturday, October 2nd at 6pm, in the SLO Art Association's
downtown Gallery.

Sonoma Plein Air

TheSonoma Plein Air Painting Festival, where 45 award-winning artists
will paint on location in Sonoma. This event benefits art and art education programs for children
