Kevin Courter Workshop 

This class will focus on learning to paint the possibilities in any
given landscape through composition, shapes, subtle value changes,
mood evoking color and most of all, simplicity. We will focus on
Twilight, Nocturne and other low-light painting techniques.

You will learn techniques to add mood to any given landscape,
regardless of the time of day you are painting. These techniques are
best learned indoors, therefore, the first 2 days of the class will be indoors with the option of moving outdoors on the third day.

Kim Lordier: Pastel Painting in the Plein Air Tradition 

Join Kim for a pastel workshop and paint the beautiful environs of the southern California coastline and inland canyons. This workshop will stress the fundamentals of composition, value, atmospheric perspective, and alternative pastel techniques withing the scope of plein air painting. You can expect daily demonstrations and dedicated attention at your easel each day.

Kenn Backhaus, Painting Catalina

This four day plein air workshop on beautiful Catalina Island will focus on developing a stronger visual awareness and a powerful, more comprehensive painting. This will be achieved through the use of editing elements, discovering existing patterns in the landscape, edges, values, and color harmony. Kenn will introduce you to the Ten Questions an artist should ask themselves before beginning a painting and demonstrate some of the factors that come into play as we paint plein air.
